Joe Taylor, 80, of York, formerly of Greensburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Marjorie (Sharbaugh) Taylor for 56 years. Joe was born May 5, 1928, in Altoona, a son of the late Edward and Kathryn (Conley) Taylor. Joe will be sadly missed by his four children, Michael Taylor, of Laurel, Md., Paul Taylor and his wife, Delcina, of Normal, Ill., Kathleen Davis and her husband, Casey, of Stewartstown, and Mark Taylor and his wife, Deborah, of North Huntingdon; six grandchildren, Bryan and his wife, Tracy, Jason and his wife, Angelica, Alex, Emma, Duncan and Cameron; and one great-grandchild, Owen. Joe graduated from Altoona Catholic High School in 1946 and Pennsylvania State University in 1950. He was a Korean War veteran. Joe was employed by Westinghouse as an electrical engineer for 36 years. He received numerous awards and patents. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Greensburg. He was on the parish council, the financial committee, a past president of the Youthful Seniors and a member of two choirs.
