Mr. Culver dealt largely in wild land by buying the rights from the original proprietors; he planted the first nursery in that part of town and reared an abundance of fruit, for which he realized a large profit. In his politics he was a democrat, a firm supporter of Jefferson and Madison. A Universalist in his religious belief. He held many responsible town offices, and was many years Proprietor's clerk. He died in 1831, age 83; his wife in 1841. in 1869.4 He was Excerpt from Colver-Culver Genealogy:
